Welcome to episode 4 of The Cluey Podcast! This show is here to help conscious consumers get "Cluey'd in" to the latest and greatest in conscious consumerism - from top brands, to hot topics and burning questions, and the latest news. I'm your host Maryclaire Manard, Founder and CEO of Cluey (clueyconsumer.com). Cluey is an online database of thousands of consumer brands, backed by reputable 3rd party data, so that you can discover the real impact of what you're currently buying, as well as find alternatives that may better align with your values.
Today's topic: how to impact change at a regional and local level. To discuss this, our guest today is Franziska Trautmann, co-founder and CEO of Glass Half Full New Orleans, New Orleans' first and only glass recycling facility that recycles glass into sand for coastal restoration. Franziska was born and raised in Louisiana, where she experienced our coastal erosion crisis and lack of recycling options. While a senior at Tulane University, she co-founded Glass Half Full alongside Max Steitz to tackle these two issues. After graduating with honors in Chemical Engineering in 2020, she continued to pursue Glass Half Full full-time. She now serves as the CEO, forging new partnerships and leading coastal restoration efforts.
So we hope you come along and subscribe, and get Cluey'd in with us!
