* We have been considering John's declaration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the past nine months. We have seen that the purpose of John's gospel is to reveal Jesus as the Son of God who became the Lamb of God in order to take away the sins of the world.
* Today, we come to the fulfillment - the consummation - of this purpose, when Jesus offers Himself for the sins of the world!
* Last week we saw the perplexity of Pilate as he interacted with Jesus, and then his ultimate capitulation of the Truth because of the fear of men.
* Today, we see again how God takes what is meant for evil and uses it for good. Satan, seeking to destroy the plan of God actually fulfilled the plan of God!
