No, this ain't the 1995 "Die Hard" ripoff starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, but the late 1970s Grindhouse Trash Masterpiece set and filmed in the Philippines!

Since his return stateside from a two and a half week long vacation to his ancestral land of the Philippines, our host, The Professor Cesare Augusto, is cultivating a growing interest in Filipino cinema. He yearns to share with his listening class a taste of just how cool and entertaining Filipino movies can be. Yet, Cesare is aware of how little-seen and unfairly obscure films from the Philippines are. So, as an introduction to Filipino movies, Cesare chose to review a 1977 film called SUDDEN DEATH, a little-seen yet badass action picture that was co-produced by both Americans and Filipinos. Starring 1960s TV icon Robert Conrad (of THE WILD WILD WEST fame) and costarring Felton Perry (MAGNUM FORCE, ROBOCOP) and Don Stroud (LICENSE TO KILL, DJANGO UNCHAINED), SUDDEN DEATH is a revenge thriller about two men's search for justice against a gang of killers set in an island paradise where all combatants will turn the tropical locale into a blood-drenched shooting gallery!

Cesare encourages all first-timers interested in Philippine cinema to try out SUDDEN DEATH as a gateway picture to all things Filipino movie-related!
