Do the dead return to possess the living?
That's the theme of tonight's newest review at The Rad Revival House with 1961's THE INNOCENTS!
Our host, the Professor Cesare Augusto, analyzes Jack Clayton's mesmerizingly haunting ghost tale. Cowritten by Truman Capote (BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S, IN COLD BLOOD) from the Henry James novel THE TURN OF THE SCREW, THE INNOCENTS has young governess Ms. Giddens (the magnificent Deborah Kerr) taking responsibility of siblings Miles and Flora in a vast but lonely estate. Things are relatively normal, until two ghosts familiar with the family return with a very sinister intention towards the two young children.
Are the ghosts possessing Miles and Flora from beyond the grave? Or is it all in Ms. Giddens' head? Listen to our analysis and draw your own conclusions, class!
