Both have been active members of the Jacksonville music scene for years, playing with various cover bands and in studio sessions. They formed Coyboi in August 2020 to create music that uses their favorite genres: soul, R&B, rock, and emo music. With Coyboi, Cortnie and Ihlan get to create and play the music they want to create and play and take their music in any direction they choose. Their sound draws from pop, gospel, jazz, and rock.
