Hey Friend.

Sometimes when we think about the year ahead, it can be difficult to set goals. Sometimes as we think about things we would like to do, our brains like to shut them down before they ever reach paper, much less become a plan.

Most of the goal-setting exercises we do look something like this…

 

  1. Write down / brain dump all the possibilities of things we want to do.
  2.  Narrow that list down to a few to focus on
  3. Take those few things and break them down into action steps.

The problem with this method lies in step one. That list is often based on what we currently think is possible based on the past. 

And when this happens we tend to set uninspiring goals that don’t pull us forward and feel more like a nagging to-do list.
