(00:00):
Hello and welcome to Mariner Notices, a podcast that sails through the latest Mariner updates
(00:10):
off of the North East Coast.
Quintum is a company focused on maritime safety.
We work internationally to improve safety at sea, and our primary product, the safety
folder, is provided for free and used by over 3,000 fishing vessels.
This podcast is part of our Mariner Notices work, where we make it easier for you, the
professional, to know what changes are happening in the areas that matter most to you.
(00:36):
Many Mariners are familiar with Notices to Mariners, as documents issued typically on
paper to tell you that something has changed at sea and that this change could have an
impact on your safety.
At Mariner Notices, we make it easier for you to find Notices that are relevant to your
operations without having to read multiple notices in different formats.
(00:56):
We make it visual and we also recognize the importance of LoranC references and always
provide these alongside any latitude and longitude coordinates.
Our simple to use web map helps to keep things visual so that you can see the area where
you work and easily download plotter files relevant to you.
So if you're interested in getting relevant information you can just pop over to one location
(01:20):
Quintum.com and there you'll find the information you need to download notices and plotter files
from all of the organizations operating in your area without having to read a single paragraph.
We are also available to help with installation. Our YouTube channel has videos explaining how to
install plotter files onto your navigational plotter including WinPlot, TimeZero, Feruno,
(01:44):
Raymarine and many others.
As this is our first podcast, it's mainly an introduction to what the purpose of this podcast
is and who we'll be talking to. In the next episode, we will be talking to Vineyard Wind regarding
their Vineyard Wind 1 project, as well as with Ørsted about their South Fork Wind and their
(02:05):
Revolution Wind projects. Finally, I'd like to reassure you that we provide this podcast for
for the safety of you, the Mariner.
And we welcome anyone who has a need
to put out a Mariner notice to join us
to explain the purpose of their Mariner notice
so that you, the professional Mariner,
can keep your vessel and your crew safe.
That's it for this podcast.
(02:27):
We hope that you'll join us in the next episode
and that you'll find it an informative,
reliable place to get the correct,
relevant information for safe navigation.
