“SURVIVAL MINDSET” Nowadays, more and more people are expressing concern and interest in personal safety and security issues. This book addresses safety, security and survival information in a primal approach since we all came from the cave, that is, humankind in nature. The natural, animal side has not left us - man is still a wild animal. One cannot separate the primitive, natural side from our daily existence; it is always there in everything we do - every observation and gut reaction - whether one is aware of it or not. The veneer of civilization is eggshell-thin. All it takes is an emergency situation of some type, a natural disaster, civil unrest, or a criminal event to bear witness to the savagery humans are capable of. Given this reality, the author imparts basic survival and security awareness skills with the intent to provide the reader with a survival mindset as a strong foundation for personal security skills adaptable to any environment. The ultimate objective of this book is to impart to the reader a safety, security, and survival mindset. Ironically, survival mindset - the most deciding aspect of any survival situation - is a subject that cannot be taught. It can be discussed, but ultimately Survival Mindset is a human quality that must come from within oneself. It is the author's hope that this book can serve as the key that unlocks this capability.

“A THOUSAND DROPS OF RAIN”

A professional adventurer sits down to write his memoirs but is plagued by distraction; the result is a collection of fantastic stories filled with high diversion, amusement, and amazement. In southern Thailand, an unorthodox hotel is perched upon a jungled cliff overlooking the Andaman Sea. Bungalows located at various levels up and down the cliff are connected by decks and ladders to a large traditional Thai dwelling up on stilts. On the upper deck is a colonial-style bar, a relic from a bygone era, where hotel keeper Mike holds court with fellow soldiers of fortune, explorers, and comrades from his previous life. Written in an inviting prose style by a retired Green Beret who has worked as a security consultant and problem solver on six continents, A Thousand Drops of Rain is not just for fans of the action-adventure genre, but for anyone who appreciates a good tall tale.
