Community gets lobbed together with the warm and fluffy side of things, but it's a real solid part of your business. 

 

Let's clear up the common misconceptions around community and sales: 

 

Sometimes you worry that selling to your friends will feel icky, but you're not selling them. You're serving them. And if you can help them, then why wouldn't you tell them about it?

 

To help community-building feel clean, adopt the perspective that you are bringing potential buyers together. You are giving them value in exchange. 

 

The issue that people have with community is that they can't make sales among so many people who see them as peers. Don't show up as a peer. Show up as the expert in your communities.
