A lot of us are uncomfortable with self-promotion. But when you are engaged in a job search or you are seeking opportunities to advance your career, modesty is not your best strategy!

If you want to get noticed as a job candidate and rise to the top during the selection process, being comfortable expressing your value is critical. Knowing your strengths and what you offer a potential employer in a specific role is the key to this.

In this episode, I talk about the value of knowing your strengths and offer you several strategies you can use to help you identify them. I promise that if you take the time to do this, it will make the application and selection process a lot easier and feel less like bragging and more like information sharing.

I also offer you a special bonus at the end of this episode, so make sure you listen to the last seconds!

The eight strategies I discussed to help you identify your strengths are:

  1. Reflect on past success
  2. Take note of what comes easy to you
  3. Identify your values
  4. Evaluate job postings
  5. Consider what you get asked to help others with
  6. Assess your personal projects or passions
  7. Ask for feedback
  8. Take a strengths assessment
