It's International Women's Day and as always on this podcast we celebrate women who are game changers and are doing fabulous things to uplift other women.
My guests this episode are GP, Dance Teacher and Body Positive Influencer Doctor Nirja Joshi, Author and mum of two daughters Amy Beeson, and student and campaigner, 11 year old Ava Beeson Uddin.
Nirja talks about how important it is that every girl gets a period positive education and what can be done to ensure they get the support they need in schools. Ava explains how she started a campaign at her school after being inspired by Period Positive founder, teacher and author Chella Quint. And Amy shares the approach she takes when it comes to discussing periods with her daughters.
Plus we talk about the effectiveness of period pants (did you know there are also period swimming costumes?), we hear from other school girls about their experiences of getting their period in school, and we shares our favourite things about being women.
Wishing you a happy International Women's Day. Please share this podcast as it's time girls stopped living in shame about periods. #periodpositive
