Speaker 2 (00:04):
Tuesday radio fun Mario Courtney Lopez. Here got a great
guest joining us later. This is US actress chrisy Metz,
who's going to recap her time on the mass There.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Plus latest buzz, another helpful hack in Courtney's corner, and
all your favorite music. So turn it up. You're on
with Mario and Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
You're a Mario Courtney Lopez. Now have your comments and questions.
Let's get to our mentions. What you got, honey?

Speaker 3 (00:27):
This is from at call Mustard eighty eight and they said, WHOA.
I was totally today years old when I learned about
the actor who played Et.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yes, I posted about this and the actor is named
Matthew de Merit and he was born without legs and
actually played Et back in the day and it was
his birthday on social media. So they showed him now
along with the picture of him playing Et, and I
was like, wow, how did I not ever uh know that?

(01:01):
I didn't know that, And yeah, a lot of people were.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
He actually played Et, not through.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
The whole when ET's walking, if you can see him
kind of walking, he played him. Then there's I'm sure
he didn't play when he was in the bike in
front and other stuff, but for the most part, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
He he kind of did.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
That's incredible.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
More Mario Lopez on the way, Mario Courtney Lopez. Here
was some quick buzz for you.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Rachel Zegler made her name in West Side Story, and
now she's officially making her Broadway debut.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
She'll start in the New Modern adaption of Romeo and adaptation.
Why do I always say that.

Speaker 5 (01:33):
I probably would have said the same thing on that one,
but I did that adaptation adaption for they probably both work.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
But adaption adapt adaptation.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Is Adaption is not a word, but it sounds like
it sounds like it not it's not, but it sounds
like it should be.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
She'll start in the New Modern adaptation of Romeo and
Juliet with music from Jack antonof Tickets go on sale
next month.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
A Mario Courtney Lopez Fraser, would you want to say
real quick?

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Courtney had said adaption and not adaptation, which you correct her,
and then you told us adaption is not a word.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Apparently it is a word. It is a word. Use
it in a sentence. It's another term for adaptation. Have
you ever heard.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
Anyone say you would say it. It's a made up word.
It's legitimately according to the Oxford Dictionary, a word.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
What are those people now on? What do those people know?

Speaker 3 (02:21):
I will be here for an apology. No, okay, I.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Beg to differ Oxford. I've never heard someone actually use it.
They took sympathy and heard my wife and they incorporated it.
Just updated the internet exactly, almool Courtney Lopez, and this
has been causing some conversation on my timeline. If you're
on an airplane, should the middle seat get both armrests?

(02:48):
I say yes, honey, poor things got to be in
the middle seat. They deserve both armrest because the person
in the window has that armrest, the person in the
aisle has that armrests, and you're in the middle.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
I think they deserve both.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
What do you think the middle seat is the worst?
Hands down? I feel like that is more of a
first come, first serve thing.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Wow, Like if if I'm in cold, I'm not cold.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
If I'm in the middle seat and the person on
the aisle has their elbow there, their their arm there,
then I respect that. The minute they take it off,
I could take it like that's how I feel.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
I think. I think first person to the road gets
two arm rests. Everyone else gets one. Wow, you guys
are cold. You guys are cold. If I'm in the
aisle or if I'm in the window. Like you said,
I feel bad for the person in the middle. Let
them at least have both armors.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
But the aisle person just has this.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
What them the leaning don't have a wall like you
have by the window?

Speaker 1 (03:43):
No, I know.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Well they chose to get that aisle that's on them. Yeah,
I chose to get first and get both arms. They
also have free access to the bathroom. Exactly. Free access
to the bathroom is key.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
I always I always want an aisle seat, and then
when I don't, I always try to would you mind switch?

Speaker 4 (03:58):
You know, I kind of got it, I said.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Okay, and then I get my heads up, okay, be
prepared to get up a lot. So we're making trips
to the bathroom. Yeah, and they still don't move.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Then how come when I take the window, you say, oh,
you get the window?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I do.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
I just tease. I just tease. If he's traveling, I
don't mind climbing over you. If it's somebody knows, it's different.
But if it's a stranger, you don't want to climb over. Yeah,
that was weird.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Or Mario Lopez coming up, Mario Lopez here, want to
salute everyone over at the talk.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
CBS is giving the show one last season. It's fifteenth
and then they are turning off the lights.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
They've gone through a bevy of different hosts. The finale
will be in December. I'm sure they're going to be
playing something big, so congrats to them. All right, let's
get back to music right now.

Speaker 4 (04:41):

before we get to today's guest. It's actress Chrissy Metz

Season of the Mess singer actress Chrissy Mettz.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
How you doing, Chrissy?

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Hi?

Speaker 6 (05:05):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (05:06):
I'm well, so nice to see you and I love
that you like to mix it up. You just got
revealed the other night as the poodle Moth. First that
first off, what what what is a poodle moth.

Speaker 6 (05:19):
Well, it's a very sweet little insect that most people
don't know about.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
I thought it was a type of poodle. It's a
type of insect.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
It's a month, got it, it's a month understood?

Speaker 4 (05:30):
Understood.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Did you select that on your own or was it
presented to you? And you said, sort of a collaboration
of got it.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
We wanted something that was like symbolic of sort of
you know, going to the light, the light of Hollywood,
you know, like sort of finding myself and all that jazz.
So the costume designer, who was incredible, she and I
sort of brought it to life together.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Very cool. All right, We got a lot to talk about,
but I got to take a little break. We're not more.
Chrissy Mett's coming.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Up more fun on the On with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Mario Lopez here hanging out with Chrissy Metz aka the
poodle moth from the Mass Singer And you're singing some
Miranda Lambert, Natasha Beddingfield, Billy Joel. What was the next
song you play? Oh, Jesse j Ay all right, Jay, Okay, Yeah,
I gotta imagine it's difficult to perform in those suits.

Speaker 6 (06:20):
Right, people don't know. People do not know. I didn't
know because in theory, sure you're like, oh great, but
then to put it on and like there were so
many pieces and then I had wings and then it
was like, I don't even know if I can breathe,
how can I sing?

Speaker 2 (06:34):
So exactly exactly, We'll go to on Mario dot com
to see the poodle Moth in action.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
But right now, let's play more music without Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Here hanging out with actress Chrissy Metz, who was just
eliminated from the Mass singer And I know you're a
musician yourself.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Any new music in the works.

Speaker 6 (06:51):
Yes, I am working on some new music. It's almost finished.
I'll have a couple songs coming out soon. And then
I'm working on a second children's album for the second
children's book that nice written. And yeah, so you know,
just trying to stay creative. I love it as.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Good for you, Good for you.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
And you're going to be performing at CMA Fest in
Nashville this June.

Speaker 6 (07:11):
Fingers Cross is going to work out with this schedule
because I'm doing a new show right now in Charlotte.
So fingers Cross that's going to happen. But yes, hopefully.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
We're looking forward to all of that. Chrissy, all right,
hey Ty, you gotta play some more music.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
A mar Lopez haz got actress Chrissy Metz on zoom
with me, and you mentioned this new show you're on.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
Is this The Hunting Wives? It is cool title.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
It's going to be appearing on Stars. What's it about?

Speaker 6 (07:36):
It is a very juicy, scandalous show. I play a
good woman, but listen, nobody's perfect. They're complicated women. It's
said in East Texas, and yeah, it's juicy. I think
people are going to enjoy it.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Fun.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Fun.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Where are shooting that at.

Speaker 6 (07:54):
We're in Charlotte right now.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Oh well, that's nice. Down Okay.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
You've also joined the cast for.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Bank of Dave, the sequel. Now I didn't see the
first one.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
What, oh my gosh.

Speaker 6 (08:04):
The first one is so it's like this very sweet,
feel good movie. It's based on a true story of
a man in the north of England in a town
called Burnley. He created a bank for people who couldn't
afford like, who never could get loans, and so I
want to help back, you know, get back and help
my community. And so you know, I love the tender Field,
good stuff. So this second the sequel is really about

(08:27):
him trying to take down payday lenders because you know,
they gouge people and they could never pay that the
interesting you know, they're constantly in debt. So yeah, I'm
a journalist that comes from New York to the north
of England.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
So all fun. Well, best of luck on both of
those projects.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Got one more thing I want to ask. Got to
take a little break though. We're going to wrap it
up with chrisy Metz in just a moment.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
We're the full interview now at on with Mario dot Com.
More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Mario Lopez here, we're having things up with actress Chrissy
Metz and we got to host a parade together. Did
you enjoy that experience? Did you want to do more?

Speaker 6 (08:58):
Okay, you are so incredibly professional and amazing at what
you do. No, seriously, it's like it's so it's unreal.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Oh you're so nice. See my wife should be listening
to this.

Speaker 6 (09:10):
I'm like, how does he do this? I had such
a good time, but it was a lot of pressure.
You do it like in your sleep. It was so impressive.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Oh, thank you. I liked this together. I thought we
were a good team. So yeah, that was a lot
of fun. Well again, congrats on everything. So nice to
catch up everyone. Head over to Alamarya dot com for
more info on all of Chrissy's projects and to catch

nights on Fox. Oh and by the way, I know
I was gonna tell you thank you so much for

(09:38):
sending the wine.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
Oh do you love it?

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (09:41):
It was really good. Yeah, so thank you. I wanted
to tell you, thank you.

Speaker 6 (09:45):
Thanks, You're welcome.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Okay, I hope to see you soon.

Speaker 7 (09:48):
Take care of sweet take care bye, Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Here was some quick buzz for you.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Christina Applegate revealing she was asked to become a real housewife.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
She says it was about ten years ago.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Brabo asked her to join the Beverly Hills cast, and
she says she would have been the most boring cast
member and would have attended dinner in sweatpants.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
You would have gotten along gray with her.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Honey, I will totally go with her in sweatpants like that.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
Has been off. No, It's like, who who.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Dresses up like that? Who's in their house by themselves
and stiletto. He don't no one in my house, no one.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
The attire on that show. Wow, all right, let's get
back to the music. You' all Mario, Courtney Lopez and
some news from Cosa Lopez.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
No, we're not pregnant, not yet.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
No, I think we've we've, we've, we've, we've. That ship
has sailed.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
What are you trying to say that ship has sailed?

Speaker 4 (10:53):
Well, honey, once you start menopause, we can't. I'm kidded.
I mean you are in your forties now, I'm kidded.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
I am not in menopause.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
You are not, so I said, I'm kidding. No, I'm
blessed with the three kids we have. Mind you the
third one.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Santino used to be a terror when he came to haircuts.
Three people. It took three grown men.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
One to hold them down, grown men, one to hold
his hold his head, another one to hold the iPad.
He's come full circle. He's made really big strides this
last month. Now he looks forward to the haircut. He
asks for that, ask for the haircut.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
He's really turning into you.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
He's oh man, he's all about his wig and I like,
he's talking a lot more. I can't understand him sometimes,
but he's talking a lot more. He's being better at wrestling,
and he knows that he knows what I like to.
He walks in the room. The first thing I said, Daddy,
I listened at wrestling, Daddy, I listened. So he's he's
he's really grown up on us.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
You know, something something switched around Christmas and he's just
making these incredible strides that I never.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Thought would happen.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
I would wake up every day and say, today's the day,
today's the day.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
Two well, because he always like would wake up and
choose violence. Right, So do you think that the wrestling
and stuff maybe has helped channel that.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
Rage a little bit? A little bit?

Speaker 2 (12:10):
But I also just think he's getting older, he's starting
to mature.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
I think he was just later developing in certain areas too,
and and that's all happening now too. So it was
more frustration on his end.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
Yeah, I'll tell you.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Who's later developing as our metal son Dominic. He's still
very emotional.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
He every day he cries at least once a day,
over something days.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
And he's not in menopause.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
No, he cries at least once a day when you
beat him one on one in basketball, because he lets you.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
He started.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
He literally was laying down in the grass crying, and
I said to him, you are laying on doc.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
He spotted her like nine points and then she did it.
She did a kareem hook. Yes, she got cocky.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
He did it on purpose because he wanted to come
back and beat me. But it did not work.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
In his favorite You were talking about smack afterwards in
the order he was crying, I didn't.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Talk any smack. As soon as he went switch.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
He was.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
Stopped showing off. He was hilarious.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
He lost his mind and cried all the way in
the car to wrestling, because it was right before wrestling.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
More Mario Lopez coming up, Jo Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Let's get to your tweets and comments. What'd you find, honey?

Speaker 3 (13:17):
This is from at Ravage California, Ravage c A. Did
Mario ever meet OJ Simpson when he was just famous
and not infamous?

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Yes? I did Ravage c A. And he was the
nicest guy.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Was this pre Nicole?

Speaker 4 (13:32):
Yes? Yes, yes, yes, Well I just.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Asked me that's why he's That's why they said famous,
not infamous. Yeah, prior to nineteen ninety four, and he
was the nicest guy and the guy that you was
the Jews. He was a Jews, the guy you see
on TV. I mean especially here in La because he
went to USC. He was Heisman Trophy Winter, big LA guy.
And aside from football, which I was too young and
never got to see him play, he was he was

(13:55):
a sports broadcaster and then he was in the Naked
Gun movies.

Speaker 5 (13:58):
It was weird though you think about there's an a
generation of people who only know him as a murderer,
of course, an alleged.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
Murderer, of course. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
And he and he was very likable, charming and a
charismatic guy. That's how we got those those jobs post football.
After nineteen ninety.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Four he was known for for something else. But prior to.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
That, I met him. Nicest guy in the world, you know,
when they interviewed like Ted Bundy's neighbors, they'll he was
the nicest guy.

Speaker 4 (14:26):
Might be that guy on the NEWSS like, I didn't
see it. I didn't see it. Color the nicest guy exactly.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Hit us up on Twitter on with Mario and hang
on more Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
What ut, Mario and Courtney Lopez here and we got
your first look at the new m Night Schamalan movie.
It's called Shamala La Ma La. No, it's not called
it's called Trap. Josh Hartnett plays a dad and a
serial killer who's stalking a pop star concert Ooh, interesting premise.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
It hits theaters on August ninth, but you can see
the trailer at Onwithmarrio dot Com.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
Mario, Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
There was some quick buzz for you, CBS pulling the
plug on two shows. It's canceling the comedy so help me, Todd.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
I love that name. It was the name and I
never watched it.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
But yeah, and CSI Vegas.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
They each had more than seven million viewers, but there
wasn't room on the schedule.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
We see now it's not about viewers now, it's just
about room. New series are starting this fall, including the
Mattlock reboot and the Wayne's comedy Papa's House.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
So you know, all right, let's get back to music. Marrow,
Corney Lopez, Todd learn a New Life act. What is
the topic today at Courtney's Corner Mosquitos.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Oh, you know, we're so lucky that here in southern California,
we don't really deal with mosquitoes.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
But we do.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
The last couple of years, for some reason, it's gotten worse.
It's got worse, but it's nothing like on the Houston level. No, no, no, no.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
That's why we don't visit my sister in the summer
because in the South, they they're huge, first of all,
and they're by the millions.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
It seems.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
If I go visit my family in the summer, I
get eaten alive by them.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Yeah, luckily they don't like me. Oh that's wherever I am.
So not many people though.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
For our Southern listeners like me.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Why I learn this on TikTok. It will keep mosquitoes
away for hours. So you take some coffee grinds. They
can even be from a used CA cup, so you're
getting more for your money. Put them in a cup
or a bowl, and then light them on fire. They
will burn for hours and give off a scent that
mosquitos hate. Perfect if you're camping or just enjoying the backyard.

(16:35):
So that's actually this is probably one of my better
hats ever, because if you use the CA cups, then
you should save all the used ones in the summertime
and get really get your money as well.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
I love that smell just in general anyway, Mosquitos hate coffee.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Mario Lopez coming.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Up, Rio Courtney Lopez with some quick buzz for you.
Season two of Wednesday has added some major star power
of the cast. Steve word Is he is Jenn Ortega's
new principle.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
We just saw him on an episode of Curby Enthusias.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Yes we did, Yes we did. Netflix is keeping a
premier date under wraps for now, but when season one
debuted in twenty twenty two, it's smashed streaming records. So
good for Steve Bushemi shemmy.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
You the girls on God request before I head out
for the night, hit me up on Twitter at on
with Mario and Hey tight, one last thing coming up
after a few more songs.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Jon Marrow, Courtney Lopez. Time now for one last thing.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Courtney Love must have woken up and chose violence, because
she says she is not a fan of Taylor Swift, Madonna,
Lana del Rey or Beyonce. Dang, she just she just
decided to spray everyone.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
Did anyone ask you?

Speaker 2 (17:49):
I don't know, Courtney says, Taylor is quote not important
she's not interesting as an artist, and when it comes Beyonce,
she likes the concept of her new album, just not
the songs.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Look, we all have have opinions, we all have different tastes.
She just chose to put it out there and that's
how she feels, so you know, we all like certain things, colors, artists, whatever.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Ironically, Courtney is showing no.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Love more Mario Lopez coming up.
