Speaker 2 (00:03):
All right, let's do this favorite day of the week, Thursday.
A lot of fun stuff to get to Mario Courtney
Lopez here, NBA Hall of Famer, Lakers alleged Magic Johnson's
going to join us in a bit.

Speaker 3 (00:12):

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Mario Courtney Lopez, Let's get to your comments. What'd you find?

Speaker 3 (00:24):
This is from at Fallen Blur and they said, dang, Mario,
body splash and cigarettes was a smell I could have
gone the rest of my life without remembering.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
At Fallen Blur is referring to a meme I posted
where I said in the nineties, every girl smelled like
body spray.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
It was sun ripened raspberry.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
From like Victoria's Secret or Bath and Body Works or
Bath and Body Works, and I used it exactly case
in point and Marlboro Light cigarettes. Every girl for some
reason felt smelled like that in the nineties. I could
smell that pick when I posted it through my phone
on Twitter.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
On with Mario and hang on more. Mario Lopez on
the way.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
You're a Mario Corney Lopez and I finally have got
Missus Lopez to start training in jiu jitsu, not just her,
but our daughter Jia, whole family. They're gonna be family
of fighters. They're gonna be crazy, they're gonna be training together. Well,
here's the thing. It's in all women's class because jiu
jitsu very intimate, very physical, and uh maybe I'm a

(01:29):
bit old school, but I'm fine with her doing that
with ladies. And it's it's good to know. It really
is the gentle art. It's the thinking person's martial arts,
and it's incredible self defense. So god forbid you're ever
in a position. It's good to know you're already strong
and athletics. So I think you're gonna I think you're
gonna like it, and I think it's a good bonding
for you and Jia. I know you're just humoring me,

(01:51):
but I hope you do.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Like it. Arguments of your house are gonna get chaotic.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
I know, Oh that's right. We're gonna be throwing down.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Shoot first, then I'm gonna choke them out.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
With There you go with the sunnies like strange toddler strength.
He's gonna win it, all right, Thoughts, you.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Know it's something to try. I don't like being barefoot.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
What do you mean you're like being barefoot?

Speaker 3 (02:15):
I'm gonna wear you know, wear yoga socks.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
No, you have to be barefo.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I don't have to be barefoot.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Everybody is barefoot. What do you mean you don't like
to be there? What if they're not always barefoot at
the house?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
But I don't. I never like to dance barefoot.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Girls do though I never liked that.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
I never liked it. I just don't like being barefoot.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Put your barefoot on a mat. You're not barefoot on
the on the floor. Your and the mats are clean.
It's your barefoot on the mat. Trust me, you need
to be barefoot.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
If we use some of those like foot glove shoes, no, no, what.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
I want to do? You the toes that are like
the gloves, you can.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Wear them, Robert Professor Roberts said, she text me she
don't like to be she just messing with me. I go,
I think she's just messing with you.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
And then I told him, and I told him, I
go have this thing. I'm afraid of Pinky toes and
if they get close to my face, stupid, but the true.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I don't like to be.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
In classes more.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Mario Lopez coming up?

Speaker 2 (03:10):
What omorrow, Courtney Lopez? Here, it's time for my wife
to step into the spotlight. Here's Courtney's random thought.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
What is it?

Speaker 4 (03:15):
Honey?

Speaker 3 (03:15):
You know, Dominic is so into dinosaurs, and I just
think they're the sweetest things. But I have noticed lately
that the scariest dinosaurs are the carnivores. Lately you just
notice that, well, we no going through the dinosaurs with him,
and then they The healthiest dinosaurs are the herbivores, okay,
And the most polite dinosaurs are the.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Hey, that's good to learn. That was good, except you
laugh before anyone else out of chance. That's a good one.
That is a good one. The scariest are the carnivores,
the healthiest herbivores, the most polite are what out Mario
Courtney Lopez? Here are inboxes are lighting up thanks to
the talkback button on the iHeartRadio app. We've got something

(04:00):
from Dylan and Sokel.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I love your station and keep up the good work.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
I like Dylan. You sound like a youngster right there.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Thanks for listening.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Dylan, appreciate you, buddy. Also got a request from Christian
and Tupoulo.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Can you play black Bear Christians right to the point,
you know what, He's not wasting our time.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
He's not very polite too. We're going to try to
get that in the mix for you. Christian. You can
leave us a message too, and feel free to you know,
elaborate if you want. Find the talkback button.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
At the bottom.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Hey hi to me, say hello at the bottom of
the iHeart at like Jeff Me, Hey, al Mario, Courtney Lopez.
And if you follow me on social media, you should,
by the way, because I'm mad funny. You'll see that
I posted something asking a question, basically saying you can
have one thing for free for the rest of your life.

(04:49):
The options were flights, food, concert tickets, gas, hotel rooms,
or clothes and shoes. Honey, what would you say?

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Clothes and shoes.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
You know a lot of women actually responded that way,
and mind you, this is just you. And yeah, you
can get top design stuff that is very but.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
It's not just clothes. It's clothes and shoes. So you're
talking about getting two things.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
That's huge. Initially I said food because food is life.
It seems practical, you'll eat that every day.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
I feel like that, Yeah, it would be the answer.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
That would be the answer, right, that would that kind
of make the most sense. But then I thought about it.
It's just meat eating, so that stuff to feed my families. Okay,
I'm taking care of it does help. But what I
think would benefit all of us is if I were
to go hotel rooms, because then you can get this
that sweet somewhere. The whole family can move in and

(05:41):
we're there for the rest of our lives and don't
have to pay any sort of rent, mortgage, what have you.
I think that's probably the most bang for your buck.
And you get tired of living there, you switch it
up to somewhere else.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
And you know you'll never be homeless. You might starve,
but you'll never be homeless.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
What if it's only for you, though, how can your
family stay in the hotel?

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Well, no, you are the only In other words, you
would only get food. But if I get a big
old suite, it doesn't matter, Like I can get food
for myself and they can. I guess sh a little bit.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
But what if you get the suite and then the
hotel is like, yeah, but you got to pay for
these three No, no, no, you.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Get, you get. That's that's the context. Here's the context.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
You food, because that's the one thing that's like a
major necessity.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
See.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
I didn't think about the hotel room from the angle
of I could just live there forever. I thought of
this life, free for life. Yeah, so you don't have
to think about it.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
You don't have the food you're gonna eat, You're gonna survive, right,
but you also have to pay rent and mortgage, or
you don't. In this case, you go hotels. I think
that's the case. I was surprised because, when you know,
most people were commenting flights and concert tickets and hotel.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Now get us up on Twitter, on with Mario and
hang on more. Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
What up.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
It's Mario Lopez. A quick look at everything making headlines
right now. Producer Fraser as a four to one one.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
Yeah, a few things trending you may want to check
out at Sharon, Steve Aoki and more are going to
be performing during Formula One weekend in Miami coming up
next month. Get all those details. M Kardashian's trolling each other,
Courtney Kardashian hilariously trolling Kim's viral meltdown. You can see
how she poked some fun at her sister and actress
Lauren Graham, revealing the last gift Matthew Perry gave her

(07:12):
before his death. Find out all about that and more
right now allwimrio dot com.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Mario Courtney Lopez. Here was some quick buzz. Selena Gomez
has picked up her next big role. This is very
cool too. She's gonna be playing seventies songwriter Linda Ronstadt,
one of the greatest singers really of all time. This
is gonna be a biopic about her life. She's an
eleven time Grammy winner. It's gonna be produced by the
same people who made Walk the Line about Johnny Cash,

(07:38):
so that should be really good. And Selena going back
to her Mexican roots because Linda Ronstadt too is a
Mexican girl from Arizona, and I think that was part
of the lure for Selena. So we'll see what's up.
This will be on our list, yes for sure. Jon
Mario Courtney Lopez Broadway is seeing Purple.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
On with Mario Hollywood Buzz.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
It's been forty years since it top of the box
office and went an oscar. But Purple Rain is being
adapted into a stage show. I love this. It's being
written by the same guy who's currently a Broadway Darling
for his play appropriate the original movie back in nineteen
eighty four, which I've seen a thousand times, grows nearly
one hundred million, which is a lot of money back then,

(08:22):
and the soundtrack also sold one hundred and fifty million
copies worldwide and counting. Of course, I'm talking about Purple Rain,
infamously written by Prince and the Michael Jackson show was
great that I got.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
To see and Prince.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
They always used to try to kind of pit him together,
but he was like in his own lane, his own vibe,
and I love me some Prince. But oh, we're gonna
have to go see this, honey.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
For sure. It's my favorite.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Kyler too, Purple Rain, Herpo Rain more Mario Lopez coming up,
Ryle Courtney Lopez. Here was some quick buzz Barbie, could
one d be heading to Broadway. I was waiting for that.
Mark Ronson said he's ready to turn the blockbuster into
a musical. He's just waiting for the call.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Ah.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Mario Lopez music rolls on. Just a few more songs
and they're gonna get Laker's Legend, NBA Hall of Famer,
my guy Magic Johnson on Zoom with us excited to
catch up with him, So hang tight for that. In
the meantime, if you got a song you want to hear,
please tweet it my way at on with Mario. It's
up all Mario Lopez joining me now on Zoom, NBA
Hall of Famer, Lakers Legend, my Man Magic Johnson. Welcome

(09:38):
to the show, sir. How you been, Oh, I've been good, Mario.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
How about yourself?

Speaker 2 (09:42):
I'm well, Thank you so much for asking. Always enjoy
catching up with you. I've been seeing you well, the
last time I've been seeing you is usually at the
Dodgers games, ironically not the Lakers games. We'll get to
that in the second. But first off, Lebron recently became
the first player with forty thousand points, so I know
he came straight up out of high school, and I
was trying to do the math. I'm like, would Kareem

(10:03):
have gotten that had he not gone? What are your thoughts?
And where do you put him? With the all time
great conversation?

Speaker 5 (10:09):
Oh, it's that's easy. He's definitely one of the all
time greats. I mean, he's right there with Michael Jordan
in terms of you know, one of the greatest has
ever played, right there with Kareem one of the greatest
has ever played yourself, thank you. And what he's been
able to do to be able to play what twenty

(10:29):
one years I think it is, and or twenty years
one or the other. But to keep his body in
such a great condition and strong and really never had
a serious injury, right.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
That's exactly what I always say. Aside from his athletic ability,
it's his durability to me that's most important.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Yes, and then to be able to actually be a
pass first player and to still score forty thousand points,
it's amazing. And I'm just happy that he's wearing the
purple and gold Laker uniform. And we as the fans,

(11:08):
just like Kobe was special, shag on and on, Kareem,
he's special wearing the Laker uniform. And I'm happy that
he broke the record hit wait a long time ago,
thirty eight thousand, and now to score forty thousand, it's amazing.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Yeah, it truly is. Well magic hang on for me.
You're gonna take quick break and then lots more to
talk about with Magic Johnson.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Getting back to Magic Johnson, who's on Zoom with us.
Mario Lopez here and Magic, You're here today to talk
about RSV infections. Tell us a little about this new
campaign that you've launched.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
Yeah, Mario, I teamed up with gsk apartment with him
to sideline. RSV is a common contagious virus that really
are affecting those who are sixty and over. We want
everybody sixty and over that educate yourself about RSV. Call
your doctor, call your pharmacists, make sure you get all

(12:09):
the information because last year, one hundred and seventy seven
thousand people are hospitalized from RSV and fourteen thousand of
them end up dying from RSV. So we want you
to make sure you educate yourself about RSV and you
go the Sideline RSV dot Com to get more information

(12:31):
as well.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Magic Kank Tiger to play a few songs and then
we're gonna come back with some more MJ. Mario Lopez
got NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson on Zoom with me.
And magic. I know you said you've never watched Winning
Time on HBO. Is there still an opportunity for that
entire story to be told?

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Yeah, the right story, right, Mario.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
You know, it's always a story or it's the right story.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
Right exactly.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
I think that the Lakers, the franchise is such an
amazing franchise, and I just want the real story to
be told about doctor Jerry Buzz, about the players, about
Jerry West, you know. And so it wasn't the real story.
So that's why all the Lakers we didn't watch it.

(13:20):
Because it's hard, Mario, to go back and capture Showtime
unless you were right there in the moment, because there
was so many elements to Showtime.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
You know.

Speaker 5 (13:33):
There was the Laker girls, you know, so you Paula
Abdul and all of them down there dancing. Then it
was the show on the court with all of us
as the players, and then doctor Buss the ultimate playboy,
you know, and he had Hugh Efner and all the playmates.
And then there was the Form Club because that was

(13:56):
the hottest nightclub in the city, was actually in the Yeah,
it was all those things, and it's hard to capture
that unless you were right there and you were a
part of it.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
I got to get back to the music right now.
But I got one more thing I want to ask,
So Hangdty for me, please Magic when I'm more with
Magic Johnson coming out wrapping over Magic Johnson. You're on
Mario Lopez and Magic back in the day, because I
just saw this the other day, back in the day.
I mean, I've seen it a long time ago, but
better it's resurface. You were in MJ's video for Remember
the Time. What do you remember about him approaching you

(14:32):
and about shooting it? I was out first of all.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
I had the Jackson five poster up right, so I
was already MJ.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Who wasn't NADDI?

Speaker 5 (14:45):
Yeah, I mean I'm talking about anattic. I tried to
throw my fro like Michael and Jackie and Marlon Tito,
all of them, you know.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
And so then I get this call, right, I was
friends with Jackie.

Speaker 5 (14:58):
Jackie Jackson used to come to every Laker game, so
I became friends with him, Michael's brother.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
So I get this call, Maggie, this is Michael.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
I want you to be in my video.

Speaker 5 (15:13):
I hung the phone, man, Mario.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Somebody playing the joke.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
All right, somebody do the depression exactly. So the phone
ringing right back again. Hello, Majie, this is Michael. Michael,
this is not Michael Jacksons. I hung the phone up again.
Oh my god.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
So so five minutes later, Jackie calls me. He said, Magic,
that was really Michael.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Oh my god, that's hilarious.

Speaker 4 (15:49):
Magic.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
You know, I love you, man, I really appreciate taking
the time. Congratulations on everything and listen. Go to Almara
dot COM's learn more about Sideline RSV.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
I'll see you soon, all right, brother, tell your family Hello,
Hey you very much.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
God bless Okay, all right, you're the full interview now
at on with Mario dot Com. More Mario Lopez on
the way.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
Ah, Mario Lopez, how awesome is Magic Johnson?

Speaker 5 (16:14):
Man?

Speaker 2 (16:14):
I love that guy, love talking to him, and that
Michael Jackson's story was unreal, definitely worth another listen, which
you can do if you tap your iHeartRadio app and

(16:37):
Mario Courtney Lopez just a few songs away from stopping
by Courtney's Corner for a new live hack.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
In the meantime, would love to play a song for you,
So tweet your request hour way at on with Mario.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Hey a, Mario Courtney Lopez. Have some fresh live hacks
at Courtney's Corner which you got for us Today.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
We're talking habit stacking.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Huh okay.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
These are little things in life you can do at
the same time live multitasking. Say you want to do
a clay mask on your face for skincare, vacuum the
house while you let that mask soak on your skin.
You do that at the same time. That is habit stacking.
If you're a college student listen to lectures or audio
books on your phone as you go for a long walk,

(17:18):
you are habit stacked.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
Watch videos or shows that you like on an iPad
while washing dishes or cleaning the kitchen while your coffee
is brewing. Clean your countertops real quick. This is what
you need to do to habit stack.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
I was an unintentional I was an unintentional habit stacker.
I watch shows while I'm on the life cycle or elliptical. Yeah,
when I'm painting my wig for just for men, I'm
cleaning or packing cleaning.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
What are you cleaning? I'm cleaning the I'm genuinely curious
or unpacking.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
I'm a habit stacker. I'm a habit when I'm in
the restaurant, I do my memes.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
Yes, I read habit stacking very true.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Basically, this is just a fancy schmancy way of saying,
do it a lot at the same time.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Multitasking more Mario Lopez coming up?

Speaker 2 (18:14):
You're on mar Lopez. Producer Fraser's here with me to
keep us on trend. What do I need to catch
up on today?

Speaker 4 (18:20):
Quite a bit of Hollywood buzz. If you want to
catch up on everything, just hit up the website. One
of Rachel Zoe's most panicked moments You're not gonna believe
who had involved a huge pop star. Find out all
about that. If you missed the solar eclipse on Monday,
you can check out some of the stunning images of
the total solar eclipse from across America and Tory Kelly
revealing how her hard health scare inspired all that fresh
new music.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Good info right there. You can find all of that
out on with Mario dot Com. You the girls on
God Request before I head out for the night, hit
me up on Twitter, add on with Mario and hey tight,
one last thing coming up after a few more songs,
You're a Mario Corney Lopez. Time for one last thing.
These are words we still use, even though they know
longer makes sense in the present.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
For example, what honey, hanging up when a call is over.
No one has a hanging landline anymore. But but you
still end you still end it.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
But we use the phrase hanging up to I still
I feel like we're hanging it correct, like we're hanging
like putting it on that. That's such an eighties term
right there. Oh my gosh, it's great. I'm gonna stick
with hanging up though, I'm hanging up now, nod you
hang up?

Speaker 4 (19:25):
No, you hang up?

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Yeah, no, you hang up, No, you hang up.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Rolling down car windows now they're all electric.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Well you do say roll down your window and you don't. Wow,
it's amazing, I.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Guess, But we don't say power down or power Well.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
That's what I'm saying, say roll down your window.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
Yeah, no, the kids say it too, of course.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Wow, that's fascinating taping a TV show.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
It's all on DVR. Now, I say this a lot, and.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
You should say taping. I just say, make sure you
record that.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
I say taping. And then when when you're doing a
movie or something, I say film. I never know the
correct terms to call things like.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
I feel like, technically, yeah, we're not taping anything.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Yeah, no, it's true. And if it's not on film,
it's not filming. It's technically taping because you're videotaping or
video ing. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Well, we see see people in emails, which stands for
carbon copy, which hasn't existed for decades.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Well, if you email someone, they still have a CC
in your eating that's.

Speaker 4 (20:23):
What she's saying. But it's not an actual carbon copy.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
No, correct, But I'm saying, we don't have a choice.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
It's still there unless we change the word.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Right, Yeah, I like CC.

Speaker 4 (20:31):
You see me?

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Even podcast is outdated. We no longer listen to iPods.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Oh that's funny, that's funny. That's right.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
I know those two went together.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Yea more Mario.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
Lopez coming up, and our time together is over, but
we're back tomorrow with more music. Fun in Hollywood Buzz
until then Mario Courtney Lopez and good Night, good

Speaker 1 (20:52):
