Followed by the news from 75 years ago, then Pat Novak for Hire starring Jack Webb, Originally broadcast April 23, 1949, 75 years ago, Rita Malloy.   Going on an errand for a friend, Pat gets a beating, a package, and a corpse or two, or three. 

Then Bulldog Drummond starring Ned Wever,  Originally broadcast April 23, 1945, 79 years ago, The Dinner of Death.  Barnaby Mullins and Spike Saunders have been arrested for hijacking a truck. Tommy Pepper, an ace reporter, led to their capture. Pepper's bodyguard is named "Dodo;" he drools into the microphone. When Pepper and the District Attorney are poisoned, Tommy Pepper survives, but the D.A. is dead!

Followed by Nick Carter starring Lon Clark, Originally broadcast April 23, 1946, 76 years ago,  The Case of the Little Old Ladies.   A senior citizen payroll robbery...solved with the help of the army!

Finally Superman, Originally broadcast April 23, 1941, 83 years ago, The Nitrate Shipment. Pug has disappeared...with the treasure map! He's been kidnapped, but Jimmy Olsen frees him. Both boys end up in the hold of a freighter, heading out to sea!  Though uncredited on the transcription (to keep the illusion up for the kids) Bud Collyer is Superman as he was through the entire run, while Jackie Kelk (Homer Brown of Aldrich Family fame) plays Jimmy Olson.
