About the Episode
Nourishing Exceptional Kids - getting beyond “fixing” and truly helping kids thrive

In this episode Jess invites Susan Baker to talk about her journey with her now 13 year old son Andrew who has autism and communicates without speaking. Susan shares her journey - from the early days to now - and talks about the impact of food and the challenges of feeding her son, along with how she came to understand and accept who he is so he could truly thrive as his best self.

Susan Baker’s Bio
Susan Baker is the mom to two beautiful children, Andrew, 13, and Abby, 10. She is the author of Life, Love & Autism, a blog that chronicles her family’s journey of growth and challenge, including love, loss and an autism diagnosis. Often hilarious, sometimes hard, but most certainly inspiring, Life, Love & Autism is raw, real, and relatable, even to those without autism in their lives. The stories are about the human connection and what brings us together— the joy, the challenge, and the learning that comes from it all. Susan is a holistic nutritionist by training and has been in the natural health industry since 2001.
