The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum located in Weston, WV is home to the transorbital lobotomy, insuline shock therapy, electro shock therapy and many more barbaric practices. Once considred a peaceful home to many people dealing with mental disabilities.
Unfortunatly, things didnt stay so serene, and overcrowding and neglect led to horrific living conditions. Once the local paper released a story highlighting what was going on inside the walls of this gothic building, it was closed in 1996 after having its doors open for over 100 years. Get ready B-oo's Crew cause this story is a nightmarish tale of how America arrived at modern medicine...but, not at the expense of so many lives.
