Renita Hills is both a proud native of New York and a survivor of domestic violence. She is the founder of Voice of the Victim, Inc. (http://www.learn2loveyou.org/), a non-profit organization that works with victims and survivors of domestic violence and abusive behaviors. Through programs and public speaking, Hills empowers young women and adults to love themselves and to avoid unhealthy relationships.
This weekend, we discuss self-love and how a lack of it leads us to unhealthy relationships. Hills speaks candidly about several traumatic events that occurred during an abusive relationship and keys to planning an escape from violence at home.
