A cavallo tra '800 e ‘900 Eugenia Squindo in Menabrea eredita dal marito il famoso birrificio Menabrea, fondato nel 1846, amministrandolo con capacità e determinazione insieme ai cinque figli fino alla sua scomparsa nel 1949. Nel 2016 nelle vicinanze del birrificio viene fondato, insieme al caseificio Botalla, il Museo Menabrea Botalla, che ripercorre la vita di Eugenia e della birreria attraverso oggetti iconici come il manifesto della "Kellerina" il boccale a forma di frate.
