Heath is 48 and was sober in Alcoholics Anonymous for 8 years in his 20's (when he was a believer). Needing to get sober again (and not being a believer anymore) he thought AA was a great program, but he knew the god stuff would be annoying to deal with this time. Heath is 6.5 years clean and sober by the grace of himself, his daughter, his loving wife who was so generous in helping him and an amazing therapist. Heath didn't want to pretend that a god was coming to save him, as Alcoholics Anonymous asked him to do. He felt it would be insincere to pretend to believe in a god, especially when he was dealing with something so serious. #alcoholicsanonymous #spirituality #atheism #aa #sobriety
