Tras el accidente que se dio en Chiapas donde un tráiler se volcó en la carretera, dejando 55 muertos, el gobierno mexicano creó el Grupo de Acción Inmediata. Este tiene la función de identificar, investigar, aprehender y presentar ante la fiscalía a los responsables del accidente, al parecer, una organización criminal trasnacional que se dedica al tráfico de personas. Sin embargo, otro suceso se dio durante las celebraciones del 12 de diciembre, donde policías se enfrentaron a los migrantes que quería llegar a la Villa.
