Hip Hop started out at the park.... Yes, August 11, 1973 Hip-Hop was born, at a birthday party in the west Bronx, New York City. The location of that birthplace was 1520 Sedgwick Avenue, and the man who presided over that historic party was the birthday girl’s brother, Clive Campbell—better known as DJ Kool Herc, founding father of hip hop.
