In this next episode, I catch up with a friend, former law school classmate, and now published author, S. Mayumi Grigsby, to discuss her book, "EmpowHERed Health, Reforming a Dismissive Health Care System,” a book in which she explores her research and findings on the potential link between negative interactions with healthcare professionals and health inequity, while focusing on the experience of Black women in the U.S.
In this episode, we also touch on themes such as the lack in sex education through Mayumi's personal health story and the stories of members of the LGBTQ+ community, perspectives from health care professionals themselves on health inequity, and the social injustice and violence that has been at the forefront of this year.
