My guest today is drummer, percussionist Alan Lightner. I’ve known Alan for many years as we both learned music together in our early years. Today his work as a percussionist has taken him all over the world and is centered around various Afro-centric styles. He’s worked with such greats as Will Smith, Mos Def, Ashanti, Roy Ayres, and Lenny Williams just to name a few. He’s also worked as a master faculty member at the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts. Today we’ll be talking about that, his various drums, and more…
