On February 24, 1978 5 mentally disabled but high functioning men set off to Chico, CA to see a UC Davis game. Their car would later be found 35 miles off course on an unpaved mountain road, somewhere they never would've gone. It would be about four months later when bodies finally started to be found but that wouldn't answer many questions within the case.
Police never believed the 4 men walked from where their car was found to where their bodies were found, so how did they get there?
It is also not certain the men were even in the car when abandoned, so who brought it to where it was found?
To this day Gary Mathias has never been found and it is unknown what the men went through in the months they were missing or how they eneded up like they did.
