Il genere spionaggio negli ultimi anni ha visto la fine di alcuni capolavori che ricalcavano uno stile "classico" nella messa in scena, ma da qualche anno a questa parte, alcune produzioni si sono erette come una ventata d'aria fresca, ribaltando un genere tipicamente "serio" per sfociare nello humor più nero e divertente.
