Dr Samantha is a powerhouse of a lady who is on a mission to inspire women to believe in themselves and create the change they want to see in the world - something she does every day herself, be it via her medical practice, her entrepreneurism or her children's books.
Having overcome physical limitations from congenital hip dysplasia, Dr Samantha went on to smash the glass ceiling, becoming South Australia’s first female urological surgeon. She is also a passionate businesswoman, founder, and entrepreneur, who advocates gender equity, disability inclusion and cultural diversity, reducing the stigma of urinary incontinence and raising awareness about preventable chronic diseases.
Dr Samantha is also a best-selling author, with her inspirational Careers picture book series inspiring children to dream big, while instilling self-belief and challenging career gender stereotypes. Her international eCommerce business sells anti-Disney merchandise to promote a serious message with a smile.
Dr Samantha was one of four finalist nominees for South Australia, Australian of the Year 2022 and a finalist for the South Australian Telstra Best of Business Awards 2023 - and has achieved most of her goals as a single mother.
Our conversation covered a number of areas, including my asking her how on earth she has managed to achieve so much when there are only so many hours in the day!
