Wages for working people have stagnated as economic inequality in the United States has exploded in recent decades. The situation has become even more dire amidst the current economic and COVID-19 crises.
The need for a $15 federal minimum wage has never been more pressing, nor has it garnered so much support across the ideological spectrum. The current federal minimum wage is a poverty wage — $7.25 — and has not been raised in more than a decade. We demand that Joe Biden keep his promise to the American people and raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour.
