Greg Abbott, the Republican governor of Texas, has spearheaded a manufactured political crisis over the state of the US-Mexico border for years. Not content to send hundreds of non-consenting migrants to Democrat-run cities by the busload, Abbott's latest stunts have now brought him into confrontation with the federal government over the border.
