The human voices of ovarian cancer in Ireland.

Born from the personal experience of ovarian cancer in Ruth’s family when her sister June was diagnosed at the age of 29 back in 2009. Not knowing much about ovarian cancer, particularly the bleak statistics around survival rates, and surprised by the lack of a strong patient-led support network to give a voice to these women, Ruth and June founded a patient-focused charity called Ovacare where women have a space to share their voice and experience of ovarian cancer.

This one-hour documentary provides a platform to raise awareness for the subtle symptoms of ovarian cancer, as well as a place to share the stories of the amazing women who are impacted by it.

Produced and presented by Ruth Hayes.

This programme had Its broadcast premiere on CRY 104fm on world ovarian cancer day May 8th 2020.
