“My view of looking at things just changed because I did so much for social work that I realized what people don’t have. In India these things are not spoken about... I used my skills as a journalist to start a conversation or to create a dialogue.” -Ronald Rodrigues

Have you ever imagined leaving a stable job, decent cash flow and the comfort of your own home to volunteer in rural India without a goal in sight?

Mumbai native Ron Rodrigues, a 25-year-old journalist in the biggest city of India, randomly acted on a lifelong thought of what it is like to volunteer. That led him to Himachal Pradesh to work with an NGO called RUCHI (Rural Centre for Human Interest) along with other people from all over the world. With RUCHI, his life values became centered on the importance of dialogue and when he returned to his home city and got his job back he put what he learned into practice.

Join us in listening to how volunteering in the Himalayas led Ron to use dialogue and his platform as a journalist to foster an acknowledgement of marginalized social issues that occur everyday.
