El río Napo está ubicado en los territorios amazónicos de Ecuador y Perú, uno de los principales afluentes del río Amazonas. El 7 de abril de este año (2020), se dio un derrame de petroleó, el cual ha afectado aproximadamente a 90 comunidades indígenas que viven cercanas esta cuenta, siendo uno de los peores derrames de crudo en la historia del Ecuador.
